Hi and welcome to my all about me page. This is the bit were I tell you all a little bit about me and my passionate Smurf collecting hobby and why and when I re-started collecting the Smurfs and more recently the Snorks too.
Well my name is Stephen (but I prefer Steve) I'm from Kent in the UK and I used to have a few Smurf figures when I was a child and used to watch them on the TV all the time. Then a few years ago they were put back on to TV and I found out my brother had broken and lost most of the smurfs I gave him to look after. So I took back whatever was left over and started looking around to try and see if I could get hold of anymore. I managed to get the odd Smurf here and there at car boot sales and junk shops but that was about it. Then I discovered the internet, in particular ebay where you can buy or trade Smurfs from other sellers and collectors. I also found out that the company Schleich that made them were still producing them. So in finding that the Smurfs hadn't died off and that they were still very popular I got back into collecting them and the rest is history.
As for my Snork collection that is a rather more recent addition to my collecting. I have a few of these and I think they look really nice along side my Smurf collection. I like the fact that you can actually bend there snorkels into a different position and the colours are so bright and vibrant. I have come across a few variations on these and its fun finding new variations to add too. I like to think of them as the Smurfs under water cousins...... LOL. I have been working on a new little project at the mo, A chat forum based around both the Smurfs & the Snorks. You could always drop in for a visit and take a look. Here you can meet fellow collectors of Smurfs and Snorks alike and discuss anything related or not. You can also just chat about anything else you might collect? Basically a place to have fun and chill out see what you think and everyone is most welcome to join its completely free...............
I like to be creative and have even found a good technique for making molds to make my own figures. I have made some Snork Figures and Smurf figures this way. I have even made a wizard Homnibus by this method aswell. It means I can make them over and over again without too much trouble. I have also made some other smurfs using other techniques too. You will be able to see all of them on the home-made section of my site. Please feel free to get in touch with your comments and feedback too.
I am married to my beautiful wife Kim and we have two children Lauren and little Jack. My wife Kim has helped me out a lot over the years with my collecting and has brought me lots if not most of all my favourite figures and other Smurfy stuff. My daughter Lauren has got loads of Smurfs too and likes to play with them a lot and she watches the videos over and over and I do too. LOL! Little Jack on the other hand seems to prefer the Snorks and likes to try and chew of there snorkels!!
Well I will stop rambling on now and hope you like looking around my website.
Smurfy regards, Steve.
